Here are some details about commissioned oil paintings. Why not consider transforming a picture of your cottage or favorite scene into an original oil painting?
The following table highlight approximate costs. Prices may vary depending on canvas thickness (depth), quality of paint and estimated time spent on a piece.
The numbers shown are starting points for a standard 1-inch thick canvas (or board) and normal artist-quality oil paints. All taxes, shipping and handling are extra. Framing can be included or done by the customer.
A 50% deposit is required before starting a work and the final 50% at the completion. Oil paintings usually take three to four weeks to paint and an additional three to four weeks to dry sufficiently before framing.
